Jonathan Karten: Courage in Action

On November 5, 2025, a pro-Israel student event at Toronto Metropolitan University was violently stormed by an anti-Israel mob. As chaos erupted, Jonathan Karten stepped in alone, placing himself between the attackers and the students, holding the crowd back until everyone could be safely evacuated.
During the attack, Jonathan sustained cuts and injuries, including being struck with a drill bit, yet refused to leave the room until the threat was gone. Footage of the incident spread worldwide, earning praise for his composure, bravery, and unwavering courage. What could have been a terrifying trauma instead became a defining moment of leadership and Jewish solidarity.
Mission First Always Despite his injuries, Jonathan returned to the venue the very same night to deliver his speech. For the students gathered, his presence turned fear into unity, a living reminder that Jews do not stand alone.
A Leader on the Global Stage Jonathan serves at the forefront of Capital Strategy in dual-use defense and national resilience technologies, advancing solutions that strengthen security, intelligence, and critical infrastructure. His work bridges innovation, investment, and national protection.
A Yahalom Special Forces veteran and former member of Israel's Ofek Intelligence Unit, Jonathan later became a Platoon Commander in the IDF reserves. Academically, he holds two Columbia University degrees, graduating Summa Cum Laude, reflecting the same discipline and excellence he brings to every mission.
